Service

An attorney web design studio is a small team of designers, developers and writers working from one brief for your firm, rather than a freelancer reusing the same layout for whoever hires them next. The distinction matters because a law firm site has to route strangers to the right attorney for the right matter under real time pressure, and a swapped-logo template was never built to do that. A studio treats every decision, from type scale to which practice areas get their own page, as part of one considered system, then keeps building on that system every week the plan is active.

Who it is for

  • Firms of three to thirty attorneys that want one consistent design across every page, office and profile.
  • Managing partners who have outgrown a freelancer and do not want a long agency contract.
  • Firms planning to add attorneys or offices that want the design system in place first.

Signs you need it

  1. 01Your attorney bios, practice pages and office pages each look like they were designed by someone different.
  2. 02Design changes wait weeks because the one person who can make them is busy.
  3. 03You cannot explain why your homepage is laid out the way it is.
  4. 04Every new page is a mini project instead of a template that already exists.
01

What "studio" means, concretely

A freelancer sells hours. A generic agency sells a fixed-scope project and moves to the next client the day it ships. A studio sells a system: a typography scale, a color and radius language, a component library for attorney bios and matter pages, all built once and reused with intent across your entire site. When a nine-attorney firm needs a tenth profile page next quarter, it drops into the same system rather than getting redesigned from scratch by whichever contractor is available. That consistency is not a style preference, it is what makes a forty-page law firm site feel like one firm instead of forty unrelated pages stitched together over three years of ad-hoc requests.

02

A team, not a single point of failure

Hire a freelance designer and the project lives or dies on one person's calendar. A studio splits the work across a designer, a developer and a copywriter who share the same brief, so a vacation or a busy week for one person does not stall your revision request. For a firm with an intake deadline, or a marketing partner who wants to see three homepage directions before a Friday meeting, that redundancy is the practical difference between a studio and a solo contractor working nights between other clients. The brief and the system live with the studio, not in one person's head.

03

Design decisions get argued, not guessed

Every choice on a law firm homepage should have a reason behind it: why the intake form sits above the fold on a personal injury page but lower on an estate planning page, why attorney headshots get equal visual weight instead of ranking partners above associates, why one accent color carries through every practice-area page instead of each section picking its own palette. A studio can explain the reasoning because the same team designed the whole system and will be the one revising it next month. An agency that outsourced the build to a subcontractor usually cannot answer why a specific decision was made at all.

04

The studio keeps working after launch

A one-off project ends at delivery. A studio relationship does not: 5 revisions land in your portal every month, 2 to 3 new articles publish every week, and the same team that designed the site is the one adding a location page when the firm opens a second office. That ongoing cadence is only possible because the studio owns the whole system rather than handing off a finished file and disappearing, which is the real difference buyers are paying for when they choose a studio over a freelancer or a project-based agency.

Deliverables

What a design studio delivers: A considered design system; A team, not a freelancer; Attorney profile pages; 90+ PageSpeed guaranteed; 5 revisions a month; Weekly design continuity. Tiber, the stag mascot, presents it.

How the work runs

The studio proposes one design direction from your onboarding answers, applies it to a practice area page, an office page and a profile first, and then rolls it across the site.

  1. 01

    Pay the first monthly invoice

The only payment before launch. It starts the build and covers your first month once the site is live.

  2. 02

    Onboarding form and one call

Offices, attorneys, matter types, consultation terms and routing rules. About 15 minutes of form, one call to confirm it.

  3. 03

    The studio designs and builds

Practice area pages, office pages, attorney profiles, the intake router, the CRM connection and redirects from your old site.

  4. 04

You review on a private link

Mark up anything you want changed. Nothing goes live until the firm approves it.

  5. 05

    Launch, then every week

Live on your domain in 7, 10 or 15 days depending on plan. Weekly updates and articles start the same week.

In their words

  • I tested the legal intake page on my own phone before we approved anything. The important details sit near the top and the inquiry button is impossible to miss. It is far more practical than the old page when we share it with a caller.

  • We asked for substance over slogans on the legal intake page, and that is what we got. They helped us select reference material that actually means something and explain it properly. It reads like the honest version of the calls we have every day.

The terms of engagement

Six commitments, stated as terms rather than slogans, with the conditions visible.

  1. Clause 01

The build fee comes after approval

The $797 build fee is invoiced only once the site is live and the firm has approved it. Engagements started on or before Thursday, December 31, 2026 have the $797 build fee waived, so that invoice is never raised.

  2. Clause 02

Nothing goes live until you say so

You review the whole site on a private link and mark up what you want changed. Changes at that stage do not use your monthly revisions.

  3. Clause 03

    90+ PageSpeed, kept

Every page we build and host scores 90+ on Google PageSpeed Insights for mobile and desktop. If a page drops below because of something we did, we fix it at no charge.

  4. Clause 04

Local search work continues until it lands

Local searches in your area start ranking within 3 to 5 months of launch, or the search work continues at no extra charge until they do.

  5. Clause 05

    No fixed term

There is no contract length. Cancel by email with at least 2 business days before your next invoice date, and no further invoice is charged.

  6. Clause 06

Your domain and content are yours

The domain is registered in the firm's name or stays in it. On cancellation you get an export of your content and articles within 14 days.

All sales are final: the one refund the studio makes is for a duplicate or incorrect charge caused by its own billing, reported within 30 days. The refund policy sets out how that works. Read the refund policy.

Questions about attorney web design studio

01How is a design studio different from hiring a freelance web designer?

A freelancer is one person on one calendar. A studio is a small team, a designer, a developer and a copywriter, working from a shared brief and a shared design system for your firm, so the work does not stall when one person is busy or out.

02Do we get to see design directions before anything is built?

Yes. The onboarding call and form gather your practice areas, offices and attorneys, and the studio proposes a considered direction from that, rather than starting from a blank page or a generic guess.

03How many revisions are included after the site launches?

5 a month, any size, with no limit on scope per request, then $20 each with no cap and no hourly billing. Unused revisions do not roll over, and every request goes through your client portal.

04Is AttorneyWebStudio a law firm or legal service provider?

No. AttorneyWebStudio is a design and technology studio. We do not provide legal advice, and nothing on your site or in our process implies a legal outcome or creates an attorney-client relationship.

05How long does the initial build take?

7 days on the Solo Practice plan, 10 days on Multi-Attorney, and 15 days on Multi-Office, starting after your onboarding form and call are complete.

06Do you show us the design before building every page?

Yes. The direction is applied first to a practice area page, an office page and an attorney profile on a private link, and you mark them up before the rest of the site follows.

07Can we keep our current logo and colors?

Yes. The design system can be built around your existing mark and palette. If you want them refined, that is part of the build.

08Will the design work in dark mode and on phones?

Yes. Every page is designed for phones first and works in light and dark themes, with the same type, color and spacing rules throughout.

09What if we dislike the direction?

Say so on the review link. Changes before launch do not use your monthly revisions, and nothing goes live until the firm approves it.
